A No Chemicals RO Plant – The Bonaire Island Case Study

Roi Zaken Porat, NSW Process Department Manager

The new desalination plant produces 5,600 m3/d of drinking water to meet the high demands of Bonaire’s nearly 22,500 residents. Additional units can be added for future extension to 11,200 m3/day, ensuring the island of Bonaire would become a more sustainable and prosperous region with access to clean drinking water.
In addition, Bonaire’s desalination plant offers a high level of preassembly of sub-systems, driving efficiency in construction and providing extremely low electrical consumption – a 15% savings.
