Water security has always been a priority for Abilene, TX.
The Abilene Hargesheimer Water Treatment Plant receives brackish water from a lake, which it desalinates using a 3-stage BWRO system with a recovery of 80%. The goal was to use IDE’s PFRO single-stage technology to achieve an additional 80% recovery of rejected brine from the 3-stage conventional BWRO to reach an overall recovery of 96%.
