90% Recovery of Municipal Indirect Potable Reuse with IDE’s Pulse Flow RO (PFRO) – Cherokee Metropolitan District’s wastewater treatment plant

Roi Zaken Porat, Water Treatment Process Director

Cherokee’s regional water reclamation facility in Colorado Springs was challenged to expand its facility to meet the lower TDS (total dissolved solids) permit level downstream of the facility and allow for Indirect Potable Reuse.

Thanks to IDE’s groundbreaking PFRO technology and unique design, the wastewater reuse facility now boasts an impressive water recovery rate ranging from 90% to 95%, successfully managing brine volume discharge and additional water chemistry challenges.

During the webinar, the following topics will be discussed:

  • Cherokee project introduction
  • Wastewater minimization & reuse limitations
  • PFRO vs standard RO
  • Advancements in Pulse Flow Reverse Osmosis (PFRO) Technology
  • Cherokee project – plant design
  • Results from the first 10 months of operations
