The scope of the ENEL Generaci\u00f3n Chile S.A. San Isidro Power Plant project includes the fabrication, installation and operation of a fully advanced demonstration treatment unit implementing IDE\u2019s MAXH2<\/sub>O Desalter technology. From the beginning, our MAXH2<\/sub>O technology impressed ENEL and interested them to further explore the applicability and performance on the complex cooling tower blowdown minimization needs of their power plants \u2013 a process that often poses challenges for many industries in general and for power plants, in particular.<\/p>\n

By introducing IDE\u2019s MAXH2<\/sub>O technology for this industrial application, we are able to minimize and reuse much of the cooling tower blowdown and offer a more economic and sustainable solution for ENEL. As one of the largest power and energy company in the world, we are helping ENEL continually strive to be more sustainable in their practices!<\/p>\n

Our MAXH2<\/sub>O Desalter operates by recirculating treated water through the reverse osmosis system and a fluidized bed pellet reactor at high velocity, continuously precipitating supersaturated salts from the recirculated brine. The solution offers high recovery rates and flexibility without endangering the membranes\u2019 service life, translating into low investment and operational costs for the facility. We are working hard on this installation and look forward to the positive impact IDE\u2019s innovative water technologies will have on the plant\u2019s sustainability in the coming years.<\/p>\n
